Many of you come to me and ask me......
"how can i improve my push ups"
"how do you go so fast"
"how do i keep Focused"
Well the thing is, its very very simple! the key to training hard is to know your strengths but to also know your weaknesses, its a hard thing to accept that your not good at something (trust me i know!) but what i do is focus on the things i am not so good at... so when i first started i couldnt do Hindu Push ups, now i love them because i practiced them over and over again in mirrors also to check my form. Every time i wanted to stop, i would think of the last thing/person that upset me and that would fire me up enough to complete more.
Training agressivly is more stress relieving than you might think...ok it hurts at the time but after you have completed something that you find hard (whatever that is) its sooooo rewarding, i used to be able to complete 10 pull ups but now i am on 15 so i keep upping my goal which is now 20 (watch out Jake!) and that way you always have a focus. Its important to reward for your achievement aswell... so have a prize at the end of your goal.
Tips for In Class
When something starts to hurt DON T BLOODY STOP! this is the place you should learn to love, endure that wonderful feeling!!! as it starts to burn keep going and slowly count in your head, 1 more and again 1 more and again 1 more until you physically cant do any more...
determination is in the mind!
If you have been coming a while, don t get complacent...ok you know the kind of speed and timing now and the names of the excersises but that doesnt mean you can take your foot of the gas...stay focused we can socialise after! you know your limits so you should be concentrating on them and trying to improve them week after week, pay attention to your cut of point and try to beat that the following week, the class should never feel like it was easy, if you get this feeling you didnt push yourself enough!
